Last week, I shared a story of referral, which is typically how customers find my shop. Today, we'll talk about fate.
It's really fascinating to assess, from a business standpoint, how I can best direct my resources (time and money) in advertising, marketing, and selling my bags. Many companies spend years of man-hours and millions of dollars every year in finding the best ways to get their brands noticed by their target audience.
But sometimes, it's just a little fate that helps you find your customer. It can't be explained. It can't be duplicated. It just happens. So we go with it.
Here's a story on how Meredith found her Archive Bag:
"Actually, it's a funny bit of kismet that I found your store. I searched the term "archive" on Pinterest (I'm an archivist), and your bag came up - and I really liked it, but I couldn't justify a new bag at the time, so I pinned it and let it go. Then, on a separate search through Etsy many months later, I was looking for a stylish bag that could double as a diaper bag, and there you were again in my search again (this time I searched "diaper bag"). Far be it from me to argue with fate, so I asked my husband to get it for me for Christmas. " - Meredith, NY
Thanks to a combination of Pinterest, Etsy, my clever use of keywords, and a little bit of fate for helping Meredith find my shop. :)
Happy Monday!
Jenny
