Y’all, it just goes without sayin that things taste better in pop form. I mean, there’s just something festively scrumptious about eating a pint sized portion of a delectable treat. Soooo, tonight we rounded out a lovely evening of slip n sliding and bbq chicken pizza with Strawberry Shortcake Pops made from the last of our farm fresh berries.
Here’s the skinny:
- I whipped up one batch of shortcakes using the recipe on the back of the Bisquick Heart Smart box. I dropped the dough by the slightly less than tablespoon full on a cookie sheet and baked for just 6 minutes. The recipe made a dozen of these mini shortcakes.
- Once cooled, I slid a shortcake into each push pop container. I topped with our fresh picked strawberries (macerated in just a pinch of sugar because they were already so perfectly sweet) and a dollop of light whipped cream.
- As for the push pop containers, I lucked out with mine on one of those deeply discounted deal a day sites last year. But this is the official site.
