Park Model Mobile Homes - Don't Overlook This Fun, Frugal Way to Retire

Park Model Mobile Homes - Don't Overlook This Fun, Frugal Way to Retire

Park Model Mobile Homes provide an option for retirement many have not considered. For some they evoke visions of trailer parks and a low class style of living.

Nothing could be further from the truth. It is 2009; the economy is in the tank, causing many to rethink retirement.

Take a look at park model mobile homes. It is a great way of retirement enjoyed by many. In no way is it a substandard way of living.

I live in the Phoenix area; last November 2 good friends from Oregon purchased a used park model in Mesa, Arizona to escape their cold winters.

They researched parks thoroughly. They visited over 30 parks ranging from 200 units to over 2,000. There is that much to choose from.

Are you thinking shuffleboard as the primary means for entertainment? Think again...the park they chose has over 50 clubs and interest groups to choose from. Full wood shop, stained glass room, library, 2 pools, 2 jacuzzis, pickle ball, etc.

It is secure, gated, with a guard shack staffed at night. It is a very comfortable place to live.

My friends have a beautiful custom home set on 5 acres in central Oregon. The park model they chose was used and cost ,000. With a new flooring system, fresh paint, they have a perfectly comfortable "snow bird home in the desert".

You can find used units starting at ,000. New units can cost ,000 and up. It's location, location, location.

My friends certainly don't feel like they cut any corners to enjoy the great Arizona winter weather. You too can enjoy this frugal lifestyle that park model mobile homes make possible.

They pay a monthly homeowner's fee of 0 that is due year round. This covers the security, park up keep, staff and lease (includes taxes) for the pad the unit sits upon.

Some of their neighbors have a park model "back home" that they live at in the summer. That is the cheapest way I can think of to retire and have 2 homes, one for each season.

So if you are looking at your brokerage statement with despair, there is hope. Take a good look at park model mobile homes as a way to still go ahead and enjoy your retirement. It sure beats working.
