Why yes, the white spots on the lawn are dandelion heads waiting to be wished on and blown into the wind.
I rolled out of bed this fair morning and went to my favorite window in the house. It overlooks the front yard with a prime view of two flower beds. The lilacs, phlox and tulips are in full bloom--all shades of purple, glorious and magical to my eye. Through the screen I inhaled the heady scent of lilacs (with pungent notes of manure because hey, we're in the country). Then I noticed the hummingbird feasting on the lilac bush nearest me. I didn't get a picture of it, but it was nice to see the hummingbirds are back.
It's moment like those that make the blisters on my hands and my sore shoulders worth the effort out there.
