Chic interiors inspired by the one and only Audrey

We love Audrey Hepburn. She seemed so effortlessly chic and sophisticated. From Charade to My Fair Lady, her movies are style icons unto themselves. Who can forget the "little black dress" in Breakfast at Tiffany's or the black and white extravaganza of the races in My Fair Lady? Audrey Hepburn's personal style was equally feminine and elegant with modern twists. It's easy to see how these elements can inspire chic interiors.

Holly Golightly's wardrobe with its trench coats and little black dresses was classic but her apartment was anything but. Remember the bathtub loveseat?

Her Brazilian inspired dÈcor in Breakfast at Tiffanyís was eclectic to say the least, fearlessly mixing antiques, modern lighting fixtures, taxidermy and vintage pieces with classic elements like a tailored tablecloth. Very Domino magazine!

We love the bold black and white stripes and French style accessories of this small powder room. The stripes remind us of Eliza Doolittle's races outfit from My Fair Lady. What do you think?

Beyond her famous movie roles, Audrey Hepburn personified feminine, European chic. Tailored clothes, classic accessories and crisp color combinations are hallmarks of her style.

We love these rooms "inspired" by Audrey!

Mary Macdonald found inspiration in the famous Tiffany blue box. The feminine but not frou-frou furniture and black and white photos give her office a crisp, tailored feeling.

We're inspired with interior design ideas from the mix of antiques and frilly touches, like the feather covered table lamp in this garret bedroom. The dressing table and French chair add a Parisian feel to the dÈcor.

This room is tailored without being fussy, just like Audrey. The black and white picture of her in this room is a nice touch along with the delicate wall sconces.

Gorgeous images from my favorite blogs

I started this little "favorite images from my favorite blogs" feature to reconnect with what got me started blogging in the first place - other blogs. But with the chaos of running my own blog and being a freelance web designer, I tend to loose touch with my beloved blogosphere. This week I refused to put it off again though, so without further ado - some lovely images from my favorite blogs. Enjoy and happy weekend!

Just discovered this blog. I'm the New Victorian Ruralist's new biggest fan. A wonderfully edited blog - you don't have to go far to find lots of luscious pics.

The lovely La La Lovely Things

LOVE the books in the fireplace

*swoon* I could really use a day at the beach. This is heavenly.

Last but not least, some images from Joey and Lana Make a House a Home

I'm liking black and white as a palette more and more everyday.

A STUNNER of a house. Clean design without being boring

This is one of the best house tours I've ran across lately. I think the design is unique in that so much right now is french country or retro. I like the super polished look of this, but the colors and furnishings keep it cozy. What do you think?

Love the architectural elements

A beautiful, glamorous house to ring in the week

The home of Lizzie Bailey is sooo pretty, glamorous, clean, and crisp - I just had to share it with you right away. Bailey actually majored in English but found her calling as an interior designer while working (and doing a little photo shoot styling), at Better Homes and Gardens. As you can see, she's found her calling.

The horizontal stripes in the entry way is just great. A smaller space is a great place to go bold if there's a certain wallpaper or paint treatment you love but are too nervous to use in a large room. It helps create little nooks of interest.

Wasn't that serene?

More homes from Espana

I promise all my posts from Spain won't be of Spain, but right now it's still fun to explore what they like and how they live- one of these homes is actually in South America. What do you think?

Love the high ceiling and the super dreamy bed.

Unfortunately this photo is the largest I could find - but if you look closely there are some really nice details.

All of the pictures above this caption are from the home in the photo above - which you can rent for a season. It is in Punta del Este - in Uruguay.

These photos are from the magazine Casa Diez - their aesthetic reminds me a lot of Ideal Home.

Pretty, Perfect Bathrooms

Ahhh...a clean and organized bathroom makes so much difference. I can never feel really clean unless my bathroom is nice and clean. These baths, however, go above clean by also looking lovely. Which is your favorite?

...sssooo cute! I love the light blue wainscoting mixed with the pale greens.

The crisp lines in this bathroom is really relaxing

A very cute vintage-style bathroom - I've never seen a shower like that!

These yellow stripes are cheery and classy - if you described it to me I don't think I'd like the sound of it - but seeing it is another story!

Interesting bathroom - no? Though, I don't think I'd need so much extra seating in my bathroom
