Wow it's Thursday. This week has flown by no???

In fact, we are already getting close to my Birthday - mid August. On another note, today I received some wedges from Fibi & Clo & I couldn't help but think how much these reminded me of my beautiful mom. My mom LOVES wedges!

Fibi and Clo has a pretty good variety of sandals & wedges that can be worn casually and even to a nice event.  I mean, look at the cute B-L-I-N-G on the Capri wedges I'm wearing in this post, nice huh? None of the shoes in their collection are too high, which should make them pretty comfortable to walk in! 

My mom loves a little bit of JEWELS on her shoes & these are perfect!! So, today she is dropping by & I'm going to give them to her as a SURPRISE!!

Joyfolie

Joyfolie is a cute shop run by Jessica Haley.  Her shop has a variety of cute wedges & peep toe shoes for little kids! It's been featured in several magazines & her line is now carried at Anthropologie!  


They are colorful, sparkly and fun! One style in particular from the women's line that I love is the interchangeable flower. The Alma wedge with a chevron pattern & gold trim are perfect when you want to do a casual event or something more dressy & exciting! You can place the flower toward the bottom of the shoe, the top or just leave it off. Neat!

Jessica was kind enough to send me a pair of these beauties - but I gave them as a gift to my assistant for doing such a great job! She loved them! Here she is below showing them off....so pretty right?? I love the contrast of the mint colored polish too!!

Perfect Wedges for Summer

Man, oh man. I'm so psyched that it's Friday, aren't you?

Most people leave early from work on Fridays, but unfortunately, my assistant & I are working a bit late today (I think). But hey, it's a blessing to have work, so I should just shut up & be grateful.

This weekend I'm thinking I want to shop for the perfect wedge. Wedges are the type of shoe you can walk around in & STILL be SEXY & comfortable, don't you agree?!? I admit, I DON'T often wear wedges, because they make me feel tall & skinny. Some of you are probably thinking, "what's wrong with looking tall & skinny? Is she serious?" 

YES, I am. I don't like looking like an AMAZON WOMAN I guess is what I'm trying to say. So, I usually opt for wedges that aren't too high.... like #1 below, which is my absolute favorite!!!

DIY: Painted Shoes

Monday is here again - working, working, working. I enjoyed my weekend & you?? Last night, I had the pleasure of meeting several bloggers prior to Blogfest & we shared stories and appetizers, cocktails and so on. Fun time!

Today I'm bringing you an easy breezy DIY project - from shoes I actually had on last night.  These particular heels have been a part of my wardrobe for about 4 years now. I've never been crazy about them so, with all the neon craze going around, I figured, why not add some neon accents to them?? ....with PAINT!
 

All you need is paint, creativity & a good pedicure to make your shoe look
pretty! You can CREATE any design you wish, but I decided to do abstract art.

I chose a hot pink color by Pebeo paints, a favorite of mine! Then I added a few other accents in gold & black. The design I chose was inspired by the painting in the background....lovely isn't it?
 

Now hopefully you'll get out your old shoes, and put them to use!

Are you killing your feet for fashion??

Ok, I'm guilty. 

Last weekend I decided to walk 12 blocks in my high heel booties & boy, was that a mistake?!? 

My HUSBAND usually warns me before going out with him. He starts by saying, "sweetheart, please wear comfortable shoes." Of course I tell him,  "But I like looking sexy for you."  Well.....sexy ends up turning into, "ugh, my feet are killing me!" & him saying, "Jen, what did I tell you?"  

Ever been in that scenario ladies??


Exhibit A- Here I am with the high heel booties, little did I know I'd need a foot massage when the day was over!

So, on that note.... this SPRING, my wardrobe will include MORE flats. I have to say, since moving back to NYC - I've walked more than EVER!!!! 

In fact, I walk about 6 miles per week just for exercise alone....not counting the days I walk around shopping. Many of you New yorkers know these streets are rough on your feet. With that said, I'm not about to KILL my feet, so looks like flats are the way to go this Spring! I probably won't give up heels completely, but a break every now & then is in order. What do you say ladies??

The Perfect Pair

I'm looking for a pair of neutral-ish shoes to go with my new bag, the Packet in Chai Latte.  I was making an order + the rest of the bags in this leather and one of them didn't turn out too well. I thought about offering it in the shop with a heavy discount, but I quickly decided that I needed a new bag (the last time I gave myself a bag was last January! It was the Mini Ruche in Black). And you thought I kept every other bag!

Now I'm looking for the perfect shoes to go with the bag (Not that I need a specific pair of shoes to match this bag --it will pretty much go with everything I have. But who said I need to make excuses not to shop?).

I usually go for pairs like B, C, and E.  But I know Boy will not allow it because they are similar to what I have in my current collection.  And seriously. Jenny. Let's be more practical about shoe-shopping. For once.

Here I go. I'm talking to myself.

WHICH! is why I am leaning towards something a little more menswear-meets-womenswear-but-with-a-little-bit-of-heel-because-let's-face-it-being-5'2"-with-a-really-long-torso-and-stubby-legs-is-not-so-exciting-in-flats-and-life-is-way-more-fun-with-the-possibility-of-a-sprained-ankle-in-4"-heels. A is my top pick right now, but D looks so airy and fun. I wish the heel were at least one thousand* inches taller, though.

*Side note: I say one thousand the same way Kristen Wiig says, "Just one thouuuuuuuuusand more songs, Mr. Meyers! Please, please, please! Mr. Meyers!" in "Garth and Kat" on SNL.

Okay, leaning towards D... since it's on sale.  A sale justifies everything.

I hope you learned a valuable lesson from all of this.

p.s. Another conversation in my head about buying shoes. This is not a new thing.

Ok, so I don't need a 'MARIAH CLOSET"...

But.... it would be nice to open my closet door & see a shelf that fits everything! My wardrobe, shoe-shelf needs help! I've been looking at some closets online and was amazed by Mariah Carey's HUGE closet room! But......come on! There is no way I could even fit my shoes into a space that large!  I thought I had a lot of shoes....obviously not!  My closet is the frumpy one below.  Do you notice the awful shelving?  There you'll see some of my shoes, (it came built-in with the house when we bought it). This shelf will NOT fit all my shoes, it's made in such a way that most of my high heels don't even stay, they fall off!  So, the rest of my shoes are on the floor.....all my boots & heels, on the FLOOR! 

 Like most women, I take over the largest closet (usually in the master bedroom) & make it my own! My poor husband, he usually ends up with the hall closet or the guest bedroom closet! Sorry!
