Design: The Decorista

Hi MadebyGirl readers! Amanda here. With Christmas fast approaching, holiday shopping can get overwhelming. But no worries, I've curated a collection of home decor gifts since they are some of my favorite things to give and receive.

And especially for "the decorista" in your life - who loves sparkly metallics, obsessed with luxe candles, and would pick the latest coffee table books over shoes.

Design: An Emerald Christmas

Hello lovelies, Drew here. Looking for last minute gift ideas for your favorite decorista? Or maybe you want some inspiration to add touches of emerald, 2013's color of the year, into your home.

Combining different shades of emerald will be sure to bring depth and a more interesting appeal to this brilliant shade! Add its contrasting hue, an orangey coral, to the mix with pops of white and gold and your room will truly blossom with chicness.

Hoping you all have a wonderful holiday, filled with love, cheer and dazzling decor!

Design: Cozy Winter Decor

Hi everyone! It's Amanda here, and this Monday I'm sharing a few favorite winter accents. As we transition to much colder weather, I'm hazarding a guess that many of you have pulled out the fur throws & pillows. Right? As for me, I already have my shag rug and fur throws out.

Although it isn't official Winter yet, but my decor mood is already shifting to dark greys, winter whites, with metallic finishes. To prepare for the coziest time of the year and still keeping it stylish, I've been adding accents with textures, like leather and wood. If I could, I would replace my side tables with tree stumps and some gold mercury glasses.

Decor: Keri Rusell's home

Hello Made By Girls followers! Katie here, from H2 Design. Everyone knows to look to the stars for new ideas in fashion, trending hairstyles, and make-up tips. So, it is only fitting that they inspire our home design as well.

There are a handfull of stars' homes that I am guilty of pulling into my "design inspiration" archives. So today, I thought I would share one of my favorites with you; Keri Russell's renovated 1860's brownstone.

What I like most about her home is how well she was able to mix all my favorite aesthetics; rustic, romantic, traditional, vintage and touches of modern. A girl after my own heart. Here is a peak at the fabulous home she created with her husband, Shane Deary.

Yep, I think I could pretty much move right in (and I wouldn't change a thing). But since that is not an option, let's have some fun recreating some of Keri's key pieces...
1 - Ochre Chandelier / 2 - Hight Street Market's Gold Feather Mirror / 3 - Anthropologie's Burnt Wood Dining Table / 4 - abc home's Mesh Chair / 5 - original canvas by Linda Monfort / 6 - abc home's Vintage Grape Bin / 7 - MGBW upholstered armchairs / 8 - Crate and Barrel's Zia Shag Rug / 9 - Urban Outfitters' Dress Form / 10 - Cali Coast 1 by Marco Suarez / 11 - Restoration Hardware's Clawfoot Tub

What stars' interiors do you look to for inspiration?

Design: Fall Decor

There's no doubt about it, Fall is here, and I couldn't be happier! Hello everyone, it's Katie from H2 Design. Fall is one of my favorite times of the year. In addition to the colder nights & crisper air, we get to be enveloped by the warmth of vintage fall jewel tones and cozy textures.

I just couldn't help but pull together some of my favorite interior pieces illustrating this welcoming fall trend. It makes you want to brew some warm tea and curl up in front of the fire with a good book (or in my case, the latest home decor magazine)!

What are you looking forward to this season?

With fall in full swing, it's hard to miss the burgundy, all shades of green and leather trend for fashion - but what about interiors? We're seeing similar trends for the home, but more tiger prints!

Designer: Emily Mughannam

I'm soooo happy it's Friday, aren't you? The weather is lovely here in the city & I'm so psyched to be meeting a few bloggers (I've only known online) this weekend! Girls like, Chassity, Erika, Meg, Viviana, Erika Johnson, Tamra, Christine & more!!

Well...today I wanted to highlight Interior Designer, Emily Mughannam - her sense of design is so fun! It's TRULY versatile, she can go from funky & bright to more contemporary & modern.

These are my favorites from her projects! She's so sweet, she also emailed me a pic where she included one of my Love prints - look how she wrapped the frame? In fabric! Neat right??!

My Faves from Sweet Paul & Lonny

Two of my fave online mags launched their newest issues this past weekend & I have to say I was super inspired by both! Here are my favorite pages from each issue.

First, Sweet Paul. It's a mag filled photos of food mostly, you won't be disappointed if you like to eat!

I absolutely LOVED the pages about eggs. Reminded me of this little treat I made for myself last week here.

Then we move onto Lonny Magazine. This is my favorite online home decor mag. Maybe because there's a bit of Domino Magazine with Michelle Adams as founder thrown in the mix! These were my fave pages from the issue!

This is my favorite Lonny cover so far....

What's currently your FAVORITE online magazine??

Sally Wheat Interiors

I'm a FAN of Sally Wheat. Her Interior design has always attracted me & her style is sooo inspiring! She recently featured one of my old 'Butterfly' fabric prints in a little girl's room! I was like, "no way, so cool!" - I was excited.

Sally Wheat is one of Houston's freshest new designers and I'm sure you'll be seeing more & more of her work around the net! You can take a peek at her portfolio here.
